A Song for Cyprus – Terrace on the Park – October 10, 2024
Join us on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Terrace on the Park for a tribute to the resplendent island of Cyprus—a land of beauty, hope, and resilience scarred by division since the illegal invasion in 1974.
The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. The concert portion of this dinner Gala will showcase the Kyrenia Opera chamber orchestra, chorus and soloists.
Funds raised from our event will provide support for outstanding performances, scholarship, educational outreach and artistic exchange between New York, Vienna and Cyprus. Together we can ensure that Kyrenia Opera will remain a vibrant and resilient presence in the arts.

Ismini Michaels
Kyrenia Opera honors Ismini Michaels with the Kyrenia Award in recognition of her dedication to the transformative power of the arts and arts education.
Since the inception of Kyrenia Opera, Ismini has been a vital board member, advocating for its artistic performances and educational programs that benefit communities in the United States, Vienna, and Cyprus.
Her lifelong passion for music began during her early teaching career at Saint Anthony’s School in Nicosia, where she established a children’s choir and organized numerous cultural events.
A devoted philanthropist, Ismini has personally welcomed and hosted children with cancer, tirelessly working for over 40 years to ensure they receive free treatment in the U.S.
