Ioli Mousteri / A Lifetime of Song

Born in Limassol, Ioli Mousteri is a distinguished soprano and educator. Mousteri’s early training was in Italy, where she earned diplomas in monody, melodrama directing, and Italian literature, before obtaining a piano degree from the National Conservatory of Athens. Her illustrious performance career spanned throughout Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Cyprus, and included prizes in several singing competitions.

Mousteri’s book History of Music was published in 1975 for secondary school education. On June 20, 2023, her book, Chronicle of the Cyprus Operatic Stage, was presented by the Limassol Municipality, where the author was honored by the Mayor and the City Council. With the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, this book was presented by Mousteri at the “House of Cyprus” of the Embassy of Cyprus in Athens, on September 27, 2024.

To the great fortune of the music community in Cyprus, Mousteri co-founded the Cyprus Operatic Stage in 1981, serving as its first artistic director. Mousteri oversaw every aspect of production and provided invaluable opportunities and experience for aspiring Cypriot singers.

Ιόλη Μουστερή / Μια Ζωή Τραγούδι

Η διακεκριμένη σοπράνο και παιδαγωγός, Ιόλη Μουστερή, γεννήθηκε στη Λεμεσό. Η πρώιμη εκπαίδευση τής Μουστερή ήταν στην Ιταλία, όπου απέκτησε διπλώματα μονωδίας, σκηνοθεσίας μελοδράματος και ιταλικής λογοτεχνίας, πριν αποκτήσει πτυχίο πιάνου από το Εθνικό Ωδείο Αθηνών. Η λαμπρή καριέρα της εκτείνεται σε όλη την Ιταλία, τη Γιουγκοσλαβία, την Ελλάδα και την Κύπρο και περιλαμβάνει βραβεία σε αρκετούς διαγωνισμούς τραγουδιού.

Το βιβλίο της «Ιστορία της Μουσικής» εκδόθηκε το 1975 για τη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Στις 20 Ιουνίου 2023, το βιβλίο της, «Χρονικό Λυρικής Σκηνής Κύπρου», παρουσιάστηκε από τον Δήμο Λεμεσού, όπου τιμήθηκε η συγγραφέας από τον Δήμαρχο και το Δημοτικό Συμβούλιο τής πόλης. Με τη στήριξη του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού Κύπρου, το εν λόγω βιβλίο παρουσιάστηκε από τη Μουστερή στο «Σπίτι της Κύπρου» της Πρεσβείας της Κύπρου στην Αθήνα, στις 27 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024.

Τυχερός ο μουσικός κόσμος της Κύπρου, που η Μουστερή συνίδρυσε τη «Λυρική Σκηνή Κύπρου» το 1981, υπηρετώντας την ως πρώτη καλλιτεχνική διευθύντριά της. Η Μουστερή ήταν η ψυχή κάθε παραγωγής, παρέχοντας ανεκτίμητες ευκαιρίες και εμπειρία σε επίδοξους Κύπριους τραγουδιστές.
